Netcode is still crap!

just want to say that the netcode is still very poor and my ping is always over the 100's and im not getting another pc when i know my pc can handle the game fine in single player. i thought that with this new doom3 1.3 patch the new netcode would make the lms mod less laggy. in your ext release just please make the netcode better is its total darn, i wanna c my ping in the 30's like doom roe which it what i get on a uk server.

so in your next releases just work on the net code!! as it lets down the mod and we cant enjoy it as much if we are laggin like a biatch.. Idea

Uhm... that barely made any sense at all but just please respect the devs for their hard work on this mod. If you don't have anything constructive to say, then don't say anything.

A simple suggestion of working on the netcode would do - this "rant" was unnecessary.

im sure everyone, including the devs, would like less ping. either they are putting work into it now or they will in the future.

Yep, lag sucks. We have already made a lot of improvements to lag problems, and will continue. Also please keep in mind that there is something called screen lag too where lag is coming from your computer having trouble rendering things on the screen. Try turning your graphic settings down and maybe some of the special features in advanced. Also make sure your drivers are up to date, that helps a lot. There are problems with network lag too, but of course we are working on that front as well. Take care and I do hope you are enjoying the mod. There are only improvements to come.

yeah ive done all of that and it dont make no differnce to making my ping less and to stop the lag, its all the netcodes problem

You are always welcome to host your own listen server. You will get a ping of 0 when you do that.

cant got firewall on my router and i ive rung up my host company and it never works as they are total thick it ruined my whole internet when i tryed... i just wanna know if in beta 4 the netcode will be improved a bit

There will be pretty good improvements for next release, especially the shotgun is hitching the network badly.

ok well i guess that better then nothink...... that random kicks that i get from server and the reliable messages info chat ment is gay 2 that needs fixing and omg hell u cant even play that map the lag is mega and my lag meter on my screen is all yellow and all red all the way tru i cant even walk lol

I think thats all just you, I have played many games where the lag is under 100, and have run the game fine.

I agree, it has to be you or your connection. I created a dedicated Linux box for LAN parties and playing around with my buds. I hosted a game last night with my Comcast cable connection and had two people join my server from the interent. Both averaged 40 to 60 ping on most maps and we had an awesome time with little lag. I think that screen lag or a slow connection is your issue. Even with my 256mb NVIDIA 6800 BFG OC, I play LMS with 800x600 on medium to enjoy great frame rates. Again, great job guys. Smile

Hmm. Yeah, if you're in the UK and are playing on American servers your ping is probably gonna be a little higher than usual. It's your connection. No lag whatsoever on my LAN, and not too much online. And that's from 0.3, havent played 0.35 online yet.

i dont really have high ping in addition to all the other people. it should be clear that there is nothing that can be done right now to solve your problem other than wait until next release. for now i guess you must play in LAN/alone

well, soon there will be more european servers. Maybe lms team should make more propaganda posters/ad to net... so everybody would be able at least hear from your kick ass mod :D
