Whenever It try to join an internet server it gives me the error: Client Unknown to Auth. I have tried reinstalling Doom 3, and reinstalling LMS but still no dice. I am using the Steam Version running on Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP1 and D3 Version 1.3.1 (It says no updates available so I can only assume). I have tried joining by IP as well. I have absolutely no idea what to do from here on.
EDIT: I noticed when I opened my doomkey file the key was two digits less than it should be, perhaps that is the problem? Just thought I should let you know. |

I'm on the Mac OS X version, and so are my players. We tried copying the Doom Key from the /Library/Application Support/Doom 3/Base to /Library/Application Support/Doom 3/lms4, but with no effect. As with everyone else, our experience has been random and frustrating. We all have fully legal, D3 licenses. We had no problems, then "Client Unknown to Auth" appeared. We re-entered one key and it worked for a while. Then stopped again and nothing seems to fix it. It's shocking the ID are punishing licensed players with over-zealous key enforcement. I don't know that I'll buy their software again if they leave their customers out in the cold like this... |
