From what we can tell, people seem to think that the KF maps can be a bit repeatative and too much alike. So we were thinking about removing some that people don't really like, but we need you to let us know which ones you like, and if you have any suggestions for improvements to the KF maps. Also we are thinking about making the KF maps be in hardcore mode by default which means that you only get one life, and if you die then you spectate the other players until they die, and the player with the highest score wins. Let us know what you guys think! Your opinions are very important to us! AO suggested removing 5 maps (there are 10 total) what do you guys think? We just want to make sure you guys have the most fun possible! Take care.

kind of hard to pick one, but i will say what i like (or would like) in general about the killfest maps:
1: monsters get progressively difficult--very important
1.5: if the monsters are all the same/do not progress in dificulty, they should increase in numbers
2. level is more than one room/ one door (overly simple)
3. booby traps are cool when they can be activated to kill monsters. the holes in the ground are hard to get the monsters to fall into
of the maps, i like ancient ruins and chambers of misery most. labyrinth could be tweaked to have more monsters/booby traps in my opinion.
another note- hardcore mode makes killfest maps much much better, especially wiht progessively tougher monsters _________________ part of a corrupt breakfast |

Anyway, if only one of my killfest maps makes the cut that's the one I'd want to the most.

kf maps would cool if there would be waves of enemies ( like in that def_fort comp, (right?) because in some maps you can do dirty trick, since those respawn points are always the same so you can stand in front of the spawnpoint and shoot monsters dead before they can do anything , this works with db shotty ( it almost feels like that gun gets reloaded when enemy respawns , just leave weight on firing button , this works well in kf_trapped ) _________________ don't cry there is plenty for everyone.

My personal favourite of the KF levels is Commandoattack. The current version really needs to be improved, though, with more interesting design, more details, lighting, alternative weapons and maybe some extended areas to the original leveldesign. As it is now, it's to simple. I noticed a screenshot of an updated version in the screenshot-section of the site, however, that looked promising. Any idea of when that version is ready?
About KF maps in general, I tend to agree with Herr_Virus, there really need to be other types of maps like more Defense maps. The existing KF maps need to be improved before including new ones as well, and there's so much of those already compared to the others.
I know exactly what mixa is talking about with the dirty techniques, I have found that out as well. It's far too easy to do in some levels with permanent spawnpoints, random spawnpoints should make it more challenging and prevent the use of those. |

I think that all the maps are great. Just because someone doesn't like a map, I don't think it should be removed. There's nothing wrong with having lots of maps to choose from, whatever you decide on playing at the moment. It's true, some of the maps could use a little improvement, but are otherwise all pretty kewl in their own way. _________________

That is true, the maps should probably just stay in so everybody can be happy. I mean, I don't like killfest that much, but I don't care if the killfest maps stay in. besides you made that thing to 2.0 that when you go next map (and the next map is kf map) it automaticly goes hardcore (and hopefully off when you move to another game modes def, prog) . I agree that kf is pretty cool mode, but it gets way too boring if the hardcore mode isn't on. and it should have more improvements, take care  _________________ don't cry there is plenty for everyone.

I think I am going to host a server today and try a KF map or two in Hardcore. I'm making the server now. Sorry for posting here, but I still haven't tried out IRC.
About the harcore thing, I already knew that. A few days ago I was in a server that was spawning stuff, so the guy told me and another person that was in there to bring down the console and type a command like "moveables", and hit tab instead of enter to bring up a list of all spawns for moveables. So, I was going through all of the commands I could think of and I tried lms+tab, and there it was, lms_hardcore. I was so happy I found it because I remembered when you told me the command for hardcore that one time in Hobbes's game (I think it was his game) a longgg time ago and I forgot it.
Anyway, that was a long block of text on something pointless.
EDIT: W00T! I just broke the 50 post barrier and got updated to Regular Visitor! :D
